doṣhair etaiḥ kula-ghnānāṁ varṇa-sankara-kārakaiḥ utsādyante jāti-dharmāḥ kula-dharmāśh cha śhāśhvatāḥ
"Due to these misdeeds of the ruiners of the family, which cause intermingling of castes, the traditional rites and duties of the castes and families become destroyed."
Key Insight:
The Bhagavad Gita teaches us through 1.43 that true peace is found when we align our actions with Dharma.

Detailed Meaning

Arjuna expresses deep anxiety over the sociological fallout of war. He argues that when family elders are killed, the 'Kula-dharma' (family traditions) and 'Jati-dharma' (community duties) are lost. This leads to 'Varna-sankara' (confusion or corruption of the social order), which he believes destroys the moral fabric of society. While Arjuna's view is rooted in the social norms of his time, it reflects a universal concern for the preservation of ethical continuity and social stability.
