Chapter 12, Verse 14
The Bhagavad Gita teaches us through 12.14 that true peace is found when we align our actions with Dharma.
Detailed Meaning
In this verse, Lord Krishna defines the psychological and spiritual profile of a devotee who is truly 'dear' to Him. A true yogi remains in a state of 'Santushta' (contentment) not because of external acquisitions, but through inner fulfillment. 'Satatam' emphasizes that this isn't a fleeting state but a constant inner baseline. 'Yatatma' signifies self-mastery over the senses, while 'Dridha-nishchaya' represents a resolute intellect that isn't swayed by worldly doubts. The culmination of these qualities is 'Mayyarpita-mano-buddhi'—the total surrender of both the emotional mind and the analytical intellect to the Divine. Such a person does not harbor malice, views success and failure with equanimity, and is characterized by a deep, unshakable faith in the Divine will.
