Chapter 15, Verse 13

गामाविश्य च भूतानि धारयाम्यहमोजसा | पुष्णामि चौषधी: सर्वा: सोमो भूत्वा रसात्मक: ॥13॥
gām āviśya ca bhūtāni dhārayāmy aham ojasā | puṣṇāmi cauṣadhīḥ sarvāḥ somo bhūtvā rasātmakaḥ
"And entering the earth I sustain the beings through My power; and nourish all the plants by becoming the sap-giving moon."
Key Insight:
The Bhagavad Gita teaches us through 15.13 that true peace is found when we align our actions with Dharma.

Detailed Meaning

In this verse, Krishna explains His immanence in the physical world. He enters the Earth (gām) to provide the structural integrity and vital force (ojasā) that prevents it from disintegrating and allows it to support life. Furthermore, He manifests as the Moon (Soma), which in Vedic thought is the source of 'rasa' (essential sap/flavor). This moonlight provides the nutritional and medicinal properties to all vegetation (oṣadhīḥ). Thus, God is both the physical support of our habitat and the nutritional provider of our food.
