Chapter 2, Verse 30

देही नित्यमवध्योऽयं देहे सर्वस्य भारत | तस्मात्सर्वाणि भूतानि न त्वं शोचितुमर्हसि ॥30॥
dehi nityam-avadhyo'yaṃ dehe sarvasya bhārata | tasmāt-sarvāṇi bhūtāni na tvaṃ śocitum-arhasi ||
"O descendant of Bharata, the soul that dwells within the body is immortal and can never be slain. Therefore, you should not mourn for any living being."
Key Insight:
The Bhagavad Gita teaches us through 2.30 that true peace is found when we align our actions with Dharma.

Detailed Meaning

This verse serves as the grand conclusion to Krishna's ontological discourse on the nature of the self. He reinforces that the 'Dehi' (the dweller) is eternally 'Avadhya' (indestructible), regardless of which 'Dehe' (body) it inhabits. By stating this applies to 'Sarvasya' (everyone), he expands the logic from just the warriors on the battlefield to all existence, removing the basis for grief.
