Chapter 3, Verse 22

न मे पार्थास्ति कर्तव्यं त्रिषु लोकेषु किञ्चन | नानवाप्तमवाप्तव्यं वर्त एव च कर्मणि ॥22॥
na me pārthāsti kartavyaṃ triṣu lokeṣu kiñcana | nānavāptamavāptavyam varta eva ca karmaṇi ||
"In all the three worlds, O Partha, there is no duty whatsoever for Me (to fulfil); nothing remains unachieved or to be achieved. (Still) I continue in action."
Key Insight:
The Bhagavad Gita teaches us through 3.22 that true peace is found when we align our actions with Dharma.

Detailed Meaning

Lord Krishna explains the concept of 'Nishkama Karma' (selfless action) through His own example. As the Supreme Being, He is 'Purnakama' (one whose desires are already fulfilled) and 'Atmarama' (one who finds bliss within the Self). He has no karmic debt, no missing objective, and no necessity to work. Yet, He remains tirelessly engaged in action. He does this to maintain the world order (Loka-sangraha) and to set a standard for humanity. If the Divine stopped acting, the universe would fall into chaos. Thus, His action is an act of pure compassion and leadership, rather than personal need.
