Chapter 4, Verse 11

ये यथा मां प्रपद्यन्ते तांस्तथैव भजाम्यहम् | मम वर्त्मानुवर्तन्ते मनुष्या: पार्थ सर्वश: ॥11॥
ye yathā māṁ prapadyante tāns tathaiva bhajāmy aham | mama vartmānuvartante manuṣhyāḥ pārtha sarvaśhaḥ ||11||
"In whatever way people surrender unto Me, I reciprocate with them accordingly. Everyone follows My path in all respects, O son of Pritha."
Key Insight:
The Bhagavad Gita teaches us through 4.11 that true peace is found when we align our actions with Dharma.

Detailed Meaning

This pivotal verse establishes the Law of Divine Reciprocity. Lord Krishna explains that He is not a distant, indifferent deity but a responsive reality that reflects the seeker's intent. If one approaches Him with love, He responds with love; if one approaches Him as a judge, He manifests as the Law of Karma. Even those who do not consciously seek 'God' are interacting with His energies (Maya) through their desires and actions. The term 'bhajāmi' here is profound, suggesting that God 'serves' or 'reciprocates' the devotee's sentiment, even to the point of being 'indebted' to selfless love.
