Chapter 5, Verse 5

यत्साङ्ख्यै: प्राप्यते स्थानं तद्योगैरपि गम्यते | एकं साङ्ख्यं च योगं च य: पश्यति स पश्यति ॥5॥
yat sāṅkhyaiḥ prāpyate sthānaṁ tad yogair api gamyate | ekaṁ sāṅkhyaṁ ca yogaṁ ca yaḥ paśyati sa paśyati
"The state that is reached by the Sāṅkhyas (the renunciants/philosophers) is also reached by the Yogis (those following the path of selfless action). He truly sees who sees Sāṅkhya and Yoga as one."
Key Insight:
The Bhagavad Gita teaches us through 5.5 that true peace is found when we align our actions with Dharma.

Detailed Meaning

This verse collapses the perceived wall between the path of knowledge (Jnana/Sankhya) and the path of action (Karma Yoga). Krishna emphasizes that the 'Sthanam' (the permanent spiritual state) is identical for both. The distinction is merely external. A 'Sankhyi' renounces the world externally to focus the mind, while a 'Yogi' remains in the world but renounces the attachment of the mind. Since the mind is the sole instrument of liberation (mana eva manuṣhyāṇāṁ kāraṇaṁ bandha mokṣhayoḥ), the destination remains the same. True vision is the ability to look past the method and see the unity of the goal.
