What Is Detachment

Key Insight:
Detachment (Vairagya) is not giving up the world, but giving up the 'mine-ness' that causes suffering.

Definition

Origin in the Gita

Krishna teaches Arjuna that while the world is temporary, the Soul is permanent. Attachment to the temporary leads to grief.

Modern Interpretation

Healthy emotional boundaries and resilience.

Daily Life Example

Investing in a project with all your heart but accepting its failure with a calm mind to learn for the next one.
