Chapter 15, Verse 10

उत्क्रामन्तं स्थितं वापि भुञ्जानं वा गुणान्वितम् | विमूढा नानुपश्यन्ति पश्यन्ति ज्ञानचक्षुष: ॥10॥
utkrāmantaṁ sthitaṁ vāpi bhuñjānaṁ vā guṇānvitam | vimūḍhā nānupaśyanti paśyanti jñāna-chakṣhuṣhaḥ
"The deluded do not perceive the soul when it departs the body, nor when it dwells within it, nor when it enjoys through the modes of nature. But those with the eye of knowledge can see it."
Key Insight:
The Bhagavad Gita teaches us through 15.10 that true peace is found when we align our actions with Dharma.

Detailed Meaning

This verse highlights the subtle nature of the soul (Atman) and the spiritual blindness of those preoccupied with the material world. Krishna explains that the soul's presence is what animates the body—whether it is leaving (death), staying (life), or experiencing (sensory enjoyment). The 'vimūḍhā' (deluded) are like people who see a car moving but fail to recognize the driver, attributing life only to the physical components. Only through 'jñāna-chakṣhu' (the eye of wisdom) can one perceive the consciousness that underlies all physical activity and transcend the illusion that we are merely the body.
