Chapter 9, Verse 10

मयाध्यक्षेण प्रकृति: सूयते सचराचरम् | हेतुनानेन कौन्तेय जगद्विपरिवर्तते ॥10॥
mayādhyakṣeṇa prakṛtiḥ sūyate sa-carācaram | hetunānena kaunteya jagad viparivartate ||
"Under My supervision, material nature (Prakriti) brings forth all moving and non-moving beings. For this reason, O son of Kunti, the universe revolves through its cycles of manifestation."
Key Insight:
The Bhagavad Gita teaches us through 9.10 that true peace is found when we align our actions with Dharma.

Detailed Meaning

This verse clarifies the relationship between the Supreme Consciousness (Ishwara) and Material Nature (Prakriti). Krishna uses the analogy of a 'Supervisor' or 'President' (Adhyaksha). While the President doesn't personally perform every administrative task, the government functions under his authority and sanction. Similarly, Prakriti is the active 'mother' energy that creates the physical world, but it is not independent; it requires the 'glance' or presence of the Divine to become sentient and functional. This explains how God is the ultimate cause of the universe without being directly entangled in the mechanical actions of material nature.
