Chapter 9, Verse 7

सर्वभूतार्नि कौन्तेय प्रकृतिं यान्ति मामिकाम् | कल्पक्षये पुनस्तानि कल्पादौ विसृजाम्यहम् ॥7॥
sarva-bhūtāni kaunteya prakṛitiṃ yānti māmikām | kalpa-kṣaye punas tāni kalpādau visṛijāmy aham
"O son of Kunti, all the beings go back at the end of a cycle to My Prakrti. I project them forth again at the beginning of a cycle."
Key Insight:
The Bhagavad Gita teaches us through 9.7 that true peace is found when we align our actions with Dharma.

Detailed Meaning

Lord Krishna explains the cyclic nature of cosmic manifestation. At the end of Brahma's lifespan (Kalpa-kshaye), the material universe dissolves, and all beings merge back into His 'Prakriti' (material energy) in a state of suspended animation. While their gross and subtle bodies dissolve, their causal bodies (karana sharira) containing their karmic imprints remain. When a new cycle begins (Kalpadau), the Lord projects them forth again, allowing them to assume new forms according to their previous trajectories. This illustrates that creation is not a one-time event but a rhythmic, eternal pulse of the Divine.
